While the bulk of what I do is centered around graphic and web design, my background makes me uniquely qualified to offer technical/technological consultation and services.
With a cumulative 7 years of Apple tech support experience, I am quite adept at Macintosh operating systems, the software that runs on them, and the management issues inherent in their deployment both on the small and large scale. I personally operate between three different computers: the server from which you are receiving this site, my production machine, and a media machine. While working for Seattle University, I oversaw the deployment and management of hundreds of Apple computers all across campus as well as their transition from Mac OS 9 to Mac OS X. And at Seattle Publishing, I'm currently working on a number of projects designed to increase the management and workflow of their systems.
This base knowledge of Apple computers is also well suited for my uptake of new technologies, software and workflows. When I first began doing production work for Seattle Publishing, the little desktop publishing experience I had was on small-scale InDesign projects. The first project I was thrown into was a massive Quark project producing catalogs for Costco Wholesale. And while that first day may have been slow-going and tentative, I was able to quickly familiarize myself with the workflow on the fly so that any lost productivity due to the learning process was minimized. I am confident in my flexibility.
In my time with Seattle Publishing I've learned a great deal about database design and implementations. I have worked extensively with FileMaker Pro, developing database-driven applications and publications. I am also experienced with MySQL.
